My Story

"I moved to SF with an English degree and a prayer. Now, I'm the Product Design Manager of a billion-dollar company."

Started as a Writer

Fresh out of school, I wanted to be a tech writer. But with no connections, no portfolio, and a saturated job market, I couldn't compete. After a few months of odd jobs, I left the Bay with my tail between my legs and ended up couch-surfing in Irvine by 2020.

That's where I'd soon discover my true calling as a product designer.

Transitioned to Design

When the pandemic hit, I decided to use the skills I'd learned from those odd jobs to start freelancing for small businesses. At first, I'd set them up a Squarespace site and integrate some basic ad tools, but their needs grew more complex over time, and what I didn't already know, I taught myself.

By 2022, I'd become a bona fide unicorn: a designer who could code, handling SEO, PPC, and everything in-between for businesses all over SoCal. But, my real passion was design, and I wanted to do it full time. I decided to return to the Bay and try again, and this time, I was ready.

Never Looked Back

Blink UX brought me on as a product designer for Digital Transformation at Morgan Lewis, where I developed proprietary tech to streamline legal workflows. My rapid growth speaks for itself: I became lead designer in six months and Product Design Manager with my own team just six months after that. My portfolio and resumé can speak to my professional qualifications.

I want to create products that democratize technology and give everyday people access to opportunities in the tech industry that, so far, remain open only to those born into the bubble or those with the willingness—and often, the privilege of family support—to survive the long fight upstream to break in from the outside.

In other words, I'm going to the top, and I'm taking you all with me!
